How we help families?
Family members are offered an opportunity to gain personal insight through addiction education, assistance in enhanced communication skills and creating healthy boundaries. With these new skills the impaired relationships often provides the catalyst for long lasting change within the family and hope for the future. Recovery is not the same for every individual suffering from addiction, family involvement is considered to be a significant aide in long term recovery for their loved one.
Family members are supported to continue the new skills learnt in a variety of ways -
We assist and support families to feel empowered to handle crisis and ongoing issues that arise on the sometimes roller coaster ride of early recovery so that they are a part of a strong support system.
Monitoring - the addict and motivate them to change addict behaviour by providing tools for their recovery thereby taking the pressure off the family. We know what works. We can mend the gap and create a bridge between the individual's employer or the court in regards to any legal obligations such as parole, probation or social services. Our recovery advocates and life skill coaches can successfully support the family and their loved one in ongoing recovery through achieving realistic goals and providing hope for the future.
